Handed Card, LLC, a Utah limited liability company, operates Handed Card and is the controller of the data described here. This Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, including binding commitments about Apple Wallet pass and device data. Not yet reviewed by counsel.

Who this covers

Two groups interact with Handed Card: Owners (paying customers who create a card) and Holders (people who add a card to their Apple Wallet). We treat their data differently, and the strongest commitments below protect Holders.

Information we collect

  • Owner account data: name, email, and authentication identifiers via our auth provider (Clerk); business details you enter for your card (business name, title, phone, email, address, social links, brand colors, logo).
  • Billing data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We store a customer/subscription reference and status — never full card numbers.
  • Pass & device data (Holders): when a Holder adds your card, Apple’s Wallet sends us a device identifier and a push token so we can deliver updates. We also keep a count of registrations and update-delivery status.
  • Website analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand visits and page usage. We send page paths without query strings and disable Google Signals and advertising personalization. We do not send Apple Wallet device identifiers, push tokens, or pass data to Google Analytics.

Location privacy

Owners may store an address in their private account while turning off “Show my location on the card.” When off, we omit that address — including city and state — from the public card, Apple Wallet pass, downloaded contact, and Wallet location suggestions. We also do not send a private address to our geocoding provider. The saved address remains available only in the Owner’s authenticated dashboard until changed or deleted.

How we use pass & device data — and how we don’t

We use pass and device data only for functions directly relevant to the pass: registering a device, delivering live updates, and sending pass notifications you authorize. Consistent with Apple’s requirements for passes, we make the following binding commitments:

  • We never link pass or device data with other data for targeted advertising or advertising measurement.
  • We never share pass or device data with data brokers.
  • We never sell pass or device data, and we do not export device-level data to Owners.

Analytics available to Owners are limited to aggregate counts (for example, how many wallets hold the card and whether an update delivered). Owners do not receive Holders’ identities, device identifiers, or push tokens.

Sharing

We share data only with the processors that run the Service — authentication (Clerk), database and hosting (our infrastructure and Neon/Vercel), payments (Stripe), and Apple’s Push Notification service for delivery. Google processes limited website analytics as described above. Each processes data for the purposes stated here. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

We keep Owner and card data while your account is active. Holder registration records persist while a device holds the card; when a Holder removes the pass, Apple notifies us and we delete the corresponding registration. Deleting your account removes your card and its associated registrations.

Your choices

  • Holders can remove a pass from Apple Wallet at any time, which unregisters the device.
  • Owners can hide their location, edit or delete card data, or close their account from the dashboard or by contacting us.
  • You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
